GrimGrimoire

I was browsing through the ocean of upcoming video games which may grab my interest and this game looks very different. It's a 2D side-scrolling real-time strategy game, and I've never seen anything of this kind before.

GameTrailers were nice enough to have a video preview of the game so I can show you what it's actually like, the game isn't out yet but if you're looking for a new experience and you're an RTS fan then this game is definitely something worth keeping an eye out for, right?

Interesting? Here's a gameplay video for you.

Watched the first 2 minutes of that, and I don't have a clue what's going on.

Don't like RTS games much anyway, so I'm not too fussed.

It's basically Disgaea but real-time instead of turn-based.

OMFG, I came across this a few months ago, I REALLY BADLY WANT THIS. RTS / RPG with cute character art, alchemy and sideways scrolling action? Insane and so desirable.

I'm keeping my eye out for it, I'll probably rent it out for the experience so when people mention it in future I'll actually have something more to say other than "it looks pretty." The storyline and many characters seem like such a Harry Potter rip-off, and it's no secret either... Still, this game looks very refreshing, and I want to at least give it a spin before it falls into the abyss of ignored video games.

I watched the preview trailer of this a few minutes ago and found it really interesting. Its one i will be keeping an eye out for. I like Nippon Ichi's RPG games(Disgaea etc) so i'm hoping this side-scrolling RTS will turn out good.

Nippon Ichi are experts of the TBS genre and as far as I'm concerned they are the best when it comes to anything TBS related. I don't know if they can handle an RTS but I imagine the experience they've gained until now will be a great help and the game already looks very unique from the previews. Also knowing Nippon Ichi, this game will have a lot of side-tasks and replay value, as Disgaea had so much to do in it with the whole item world etc. you could spend 200+ hours easily on the game if you had the patience.

I apologise for the double post and slightly bumping this thread but I noticed that GrimGrimoire has actually been getting good ratings from all over. I'm curious if anyone has since bought the game and can post their opinions on how well it plays. Since the reviews are good and I'm interested to play a 2D RTS on a console this is quite high on my to-buy list all of a sudden. :]

I'm planning to get it when it gets its Uk release in september, should be good from what i've heard here and there. If it wasn't for the fact thats its a PS2 game, i would have imported it.

Hm, you can get one of those swap-discs for the PS2 to import it, assuming that's the problem. :]
