The Boss
The yaoi OVA that spawned the popular TV series will be released by MVM on 6th April. And to mark that, MVM released a few trailers for us.

The list of extras includes: gallery, liner notes, anime vs manga, sneak
previews, textless opening, textless version of alternative episode 1
closing & soundtrack-only audio option with lyrics.

I was going to post, "3-2-1... CitizenGeek!!!!" Why? Because he's one of the few I'd guessed paid for the Gravitation DVDs. Not that I'm suggesting anything is wrong with that -- it's marketed towards yaoi fangirls and guys who are into that sort of thing.

Didn't MVM say in their recent interview that it flopped, doing worse than they had expected it to do? I recall the persob interviewed also said that Daphne did good...

As much as I appreciate stereotypical assumptions based on a small facet of my character, I have to inform you that I didn't actually buy those DVDs and I've never seen the series! :p I just know it's not porn.

Daphne in the Brilliant Blue (I guess fan service sells after all!)

Good performers were FLCL, Shana and Starship Operators.
Gravitation - not so good.

Yaoi (やおい)[nb 1] is a popular term for fictional media that focuses on homosexual male relationships, yet is generally created by and for females

Yaoi is not exactly my cup of tea, but they did ask nicely to put the videos up.

It might also be a contract thing, where the japanese company requested the licensee to commit to release both TV series and OVA.

There's a fair bit of sex in the manga, though nothing remotely graphic. The doujinshi by the series creator of her own characters however...

The TV series is toned down both in vague sex references and in the insanity. Good music though.

The OAV wasn't brilliant from what I remember (I have the R1s - classic problem of rabid BL fangirls being most likely to rabidly import instead of wait 3-4 years longer). It's a shame the series hasn't done well though.

I don't like the main characters at all. K and Touma had far more personality than both the leads put together. I think at one point I was only still buying the manga to see what K was going to do next.

I just enjoyed the series as a fluffy popstar story with some extreme craziness and saw the BL elements as a subplot. Despite being a BL fan I don't seem to like most of the anime versions the "genre" produces...
