Last May, Manga Entertainment UK announced that they had obtained the licence to release the hit anime sensation Attack On Titan in the United Kingdom. Earlier this year, they announced that the first thirteen episodes of the series will be available from 15th September on DVD, blu-Ray and now, as a 3-disc blu-ray collector's edition (that contains 2 blu-rays as well as 1 DVD of extras). Today, the distributor also confirmed that the second half of the series will be available just before the Santa Titan attacks, on 22nd December 2014.

They also confirmed that the previously announced blu-ray steelbook rerelease of Mamoru Oshii's 1995 Ghost in the Shell movie, which features the original movie as opposed to the 2.0 version, will be released on 29th September.

(All artwork shown is not final unless otherwise stated).

I hope that art work is not final. There's no way I'd buy a box that show's Motoko looking like she's ready for her pension.

Going to pre-order GITS when it appears on Amazon. Still waiting to hear which transfer they are using.

I'll be getting the GitS steelbook once Amazon adds it (it's not a Zavvi exclusive don't worry, however they can release it a week early than other shop retailers).

I noticed they're bringing Part 1 of the booklet to the AoT CE. UK fans are going to feel a bit awkward if Part 2 doesn't have the second booklet.

The Japanese BD transfer OFC.

To further Mangaranga's comment, MangaUK are using the original film from the recent Japanese release. NOT the 2.0 version.

I know it's not the 2.0 version. So have Manga confirmed they are using the transfer from the Japan release and not that crappy version that came on the 2.0 disc as an extra?

I think basic logic would say that its the HD transfer from the Japanese release.
I mean come on. Even I don't think Manga would be that stupid as to re-release the horrific upscaled extra from the 2.0 release as a standalone BD.

Sorry been away for a while and just seen this about GitS, is it only coming as a steel book? I'm not a fan of them really and not impressed with the artwork much, hoping for a standard release.

Judging from Akira and Ninja Scroll, I imagine a standard amaray will follow shortly.

So I looked it up and... it's great. Original Japanese cover art, nice and clean - Just like the Akira steelbook in fact, and actually cleaner than the Japanese cover because even that has more words and logos on it. I don't really know what more people could ask for.

Probably because this thread was automatically generated due to the front page article I wrote (which has them in) but for some reason, the images don't make the jump list the text does.
