Studio Ghibli have posted a new trailer for Gedo Senki (Tales of Earth Sea) along with the news that the animation for the movie is now 96% finished (Japanese theatrical release is set for this summer).

Worth noting that both Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away took twice as long to create (16/17 months versus 8). This suggests that Earthsea is more of a Cat Returns-like stop-gap between Howl and the next big thing, presumeably whatever Hayao Miyazaki is supposed to working on right now.
