To begin with, sure, but once you're established, it's not really worth pulling on most banners unless they're an insanely cracked unit. Once you gotten yourself a few meta supports (Liter, the bunnies, Tia/Naga, etc) and a few strong DPS units (ideally a pilgrim) you're pretty much set unless you care about pushing into late campaign or doing well in solo-raids. At that point, you can just skip most banner and just save for limiteds/pilgrims and maybe pull on the occasionally strong regular unit banner. It's probably harder if you're completely f2p, but if you're buying things like the mission passes, you'll have a decent supply of SSR molds and regular banner tickets which can help to fill out your roster.
