Funimation has acquired several new licenses. These are
- Sekirei
- Tetsuwan Birdy Decode & Decode:02
- Full Metal Panic!, Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu
Tetsuwan Birdy Decode is a show about a space police officer called Birdy. When she accidentally kills an Earth boy called Tsutomu, she shares her body with his spirit while he heals in order that he can continue living. When duty calls Birdy reverts back to her own form and takes over. Both 13 episode series are set for dvd release in 2010.
Sekirei is about Minato Sahashi, a man who is a failure in love and in getting into college due to an inability to cope well under pressure. Upon meeting a girl called Musubi, he learns that he is an Ashikabi. An Ashikabi is someone who is a master of one or more of the 108 cute girls, buxom women, and bishōnen called “Sekirei. Once all of the Sekirei have a master they then fight against other Sekirei in a competition held by the MBI corporation. This 12 episode series is set for a dvd release in 2010.
Full Metal Panic/Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu is a license that has lapsed from the former ADV Films. Funimation plan to stream it on it's own and partner websites with dvd and blu-ray releases set for 2010.
