As the title says. ^_^ Anyone else got a full house in the competition yet? I just got the last one I needed. I knew the name for ages, but there is a more well known character who shares that name, who keps appearing on my search. ;_;

The hard work will hopefully have paid off though! :D
 
Also, is there a problem with the chat at the moment? I keep getting "Error: Connection status: 500" & noone else is there.

The wait for the compo to close will be agonising now. XD

How will you decide who gets DVD & who gets Blu-Ray? First winners get first pick, & last winners get whatever is left?

Hey if i get the blu ray i'll gladly trade you for the regular DVDs :p no point in me having blu rays yet afterall. Plus Chat still doesn't want to work for me using Chrome...thank god that i kept internet explorer on hand
 
You gotta price the cost of your time versus the value of the reward. If I spent four hours on this & won it would be a fair trade, because four hours paid work is roughly equal to the value of the prize. ^_^

Also, knowing where to search & how best to gather information is handy too. Google image search is your friend if you only know the name, & Wikipedia is handy if you recognise the series but not the character name, because you can then find the character name & google image search it to confirm.

I wonder, are surnames needed? I missed out the surname for one of them, but this character does not share her first name with any other anime character.
 
I assume we'll hand out blu-rays to the top three and DVDs to the runners up, unless anyone in the top three requests a DVD instead because they can't play the blu-ray (or because they have an irrational hatred of blue things etc).

A lot of the characters (or at least their art style) are on the box art for their series, so a particularly patient person could find some of the mystery ones by looking at shows they'd never buy on shop websites I guess :) there's also watching advertisements on DVDs and websites. There may be a tiny chance it might get people to check out series they wouldn't normally watch for better or worse.

Or they could stalk me and look at my shelves. So far the security seems to be holding up...

If we can tell you know who it is and their first name is how they're most usually referred to it should be fine. Same with nicknames (so long as they're not too ridiculous (e.g. "some filler character in episode 160 called them that once in the background" or fan-made).

I tried that, but I didn't have any luck that way. Others may though, but Play & HMV websites were not very good for browsing covers for me.

That is how I recognised #29, from a trailer on one of my Ghost in the Shell SAC 2nd Gig DVDs. Either that or it was on the Death Note volume 1 disc, or Cowboy Bebop Remix volume 1. :D

Actually i saw that one on the trailers on the Guyver DVDs ;) and i think it ended up on the Elfen Lied discs as well

!!!!! That was it! That is were I saw it! On the Guyver discs the trailers play before the menu don't they? I was trying to remember what I'd watched recently to have seen the trailer, & forgot about the fact I popped in the Guyver discs! :D
 
Whee, I just identified #34. Suddenly the name of a show popped into my head, out of nowhere, and a Google image search proved fruitful. Bizarre.

Now I just need another six pieces of divine inspiration.
 
what!? where is this competition even posted??

edit: never mind, I've never noticed the competitions link at the top of the screen, i'm not even gonna attempt this one, at first glance i could only name about half.
 
Look at the sticked topics, its in there.

And i've got a full house as well now, but its okay if i win i will be just taking a normal dvd, got nothing to play blu rays with :p
