FLCL: Is it EVER coming to Europe?

It's a series I've wanted to see for ages, and despite it's availabilty online, I just really want it on DVDs. So, has there ever been announcments of this coming to the UK?

But, I don't think my DVD player or my PS2 play R1 DVDs. So, how would I go about ensuring these DVDs will work on my DVD player or PS2?

Buy a region free DVD player. Its not hard. I picked mine up for £30 from a high street branch of Curry's. Or you could import a DVD player although there’s no real need. But with standard DVD players and DVD playing consoles in the UK R1 DVDs won't work.

Most DVD players are unlockable to region 0 with a code. It's usually very easy to do. What DVD player do you have?

Yeah, as Sy said; you can easily find the Region unlock codes on the internet, the only chances of it being impossible is if its a really old Player from where DVD's were first around, and also being a higher up brand (e.g. sony).

if you can specify what DVD player, me or someone else should be able to tell you the instructions on what to do, if you can't find them yourself (its usually a series of numbers, combined with pressing the menu button or similar. xD)

You can also region lock your computer if you have a DVD player, i think you can switch regions 3 times, by default; but you should be able to bypass that with ease.

Funnily enough my MP4 video ripping program can rip from Region 1 and Region 2 discs - it's only the software that checks the disc's region setting against the DVD drives setting and stops it from playing on my computer.

Ah yes, i totally forgot, if you rip DVD's with certain programs; for example DVD Shrink, they totally ignore the Region setting, so you can rip onto the computer; or re-burn it onto a region less disk for your own enjoyment.

Yup, which is why VLC media player plays any region DVDs.

Thanks for all the advice guys! That set looks great, so I think I'm definately going to try to get it, even if it is fairly expensive for a 6 episode series (it works out at about €60 for me).

I have a Black Diamond one, not so sure of the model - but I could find out if needed?

I really hope it does someday, it seems a lot of people want it but for some reason nobody's trying to bring it over... I really enjoyed it and would love to get it on DVD.

I think all hope for bringing it over are lost by now =( I downloaded it a while ago and it's an outstanding series, really crazy and just brilliant! I'm pretty sure it's quite a popular anime too, so it's puzzling that it hasn't been released over here yet.

I imagine it would cost a bit to licence because I would have thought they'd have to licence The Pillows music as well. Not really sure about that though.

Still can't see it being that expensive, really. It's also got quite a reputation, so most of the marketing is already done.

Something I mentioned earlier is that I recently saw FLCL boxset in tower records, Im sure its still there.
Must be an import or something but its def there.

Take a photo next time you go in. I'm curious about what the box looks like.
