Hold x to run

o to do things

Triangle menu

Wait this is a joke right?

My advice? Play a more recent one, like X or XII. The graphics are amazing. I'll bet the gameplay is more enjoyable too. I mean, yeah, Final Fantasy VII is a legend and all, but... it is very old. ;)

What does being old have to do with gameplay being enjoyable or not?

OT:

Skikkes, tutorials kick in quite early on when you talk to the right people.

they havent 0_o ive just set a bomb and then this machine fights and i keep dieing i dunno what the different things, like what does magic do, does different magic have different effects how to use items... it doesnt even tell you what the items do... what does phoenix down do?

As the numbers add up the series gets progressively worse, maybe XIII being an unlucky number can break the chain!?

Anyway lrn2Gamefaqs.

A phoenix down revives group members.

You find this out by hitting Triangle, then going on the Items tab, press circle, then highlight each item. A description appears at the top detailing what the item does.

Oh, to be confused by Final Fantasy again...

Though at least I was trying to suss out the demo of 8 on the PC. Most over-complex FF game with the worst keyboard setup in human history? Nasty.

The question must be asked Mr Skikes, why do you have no instructions? If you purchased second hand, fair enough. Gamefaqs is your friend. If you purchased the PSN version, the manual should be accessible. I just can't remember how. And if you have no manual because you've pirated it, stop expecting support for things you've stolen :p

you aint no murder she wrote!

i came right out and said i downloaded illegally to my psp. ive made peace with my swashbuckling ways. but now that you mention it the version i have works like a real psn download so it has the manual. FANKS! ^_^

p.s. like youve never stolen anime ¬_¬

Don't worry, you were better off not knowing what the hype was about. Some would enforce FF:VII as being something for everyone, too bad it's not. At least you tried.

Unless you are a girl with VERY good graphics, you need good gameplay to back it all up. So maybe you have nice graphics for all I know & you probably have a very short loading time, but I reckon you may lack gameplay, replay value, & your random 'encounters' are all shorter than one minute.

Who would argue that any game could possibly be something everyone would enjoy?

ive given up, its just not my kind of game. i tried.

How far did you get before you gave up? To be honest, playing FFVII as your first JRPG and not having any manual isn't the best idea because as far as I can remember there isn't a robust tutorial in the game.

I played the game without a manual when I was like... ten. The only thing that needs to be explained is the materia system and that gets explained like 20 minutes into the game.
