Film4 has announced on Twitter that it premier Hayao Miyazaki's The Wind Rises on Saturday 7th February at 15.25.

On 23rd January Film4 posted the following tweet: "Heads up, Studio Ghibli fans! We're screening Hayao Miyazaki's The Wind Rises on Sat Feb 7th", with the following link to their website displaying more information and an advert for the film. According to DigiGuide it appears that it will be shown with the English dub. It also claims it will be repeated at 18.25 on Friday 13th January.

The Wind Rises was Miyazaki's last feature film he directed, although there still seems to be some confusion as to whether he has officially declared his retirement from making any more films, as he has already retired and returned several times during his career.

Synopsis

As a young boy, the bespectacled Jiro Horikoshi dreams of flying a plane but when he learns he will be unable to become a pilot due to his poor eyesight, he instead decides to be an aircraft designer. On 1st September 1923 Jiro is travelling by train when the Great Kanto earthquake strikes. He assists fellow passenger Naoko and her maid who suffers an injury. He doesn't meet Naoko again till many years later after he has graduated university and has worked on various designing jobs, without finding much success. The two fall for each other and become engaged but Naoko is suffering from tuberculosis. While they try to enjoy the time they have together Jiro continues to work on designing his first successful plane, and will eventually design one of the most iconic planes of World War II, the Zero.

Already have this on Blu-Ray so I'm probably not going to watch it when it goes out, but it is nice to know that it is to be broadcast.

Damn my luck! I bought this a few weeks ago. Had I of known I just would of had my Mum record it on DVD like she did with loads of Ghibli when it was the Ghibli season. Waaaah :(

Really? Geez - it even said in the tv guide it was supposed to be the dub. Sounds like something was awry at Film4's end.

Yeah I figure they'll show it sometime, I'll just keep recording it and it should be the dub at some point.

I recorded it and before it started the guy said it was in English but when I put it on it was subtitled :?

Yea; it was an error on their part and as a result Film4 should be showing the English Dub version of The Wind Rises on Friday 13th February 2015 (at 6:25pm if I remember correctly).
