File type: 7z?

Does anyone know what program is compatible with the file type 7z - my friend sent me something but for some reason its in this file type which I've never encountered before

Download Winrar, should work for you up to open that file. I'm pretty sure it's like a zip file or a rar file.

You could, alternatively, use 'Extract Now.' It works well for formats like 7z.

7z files are '7-Zip' files. There's a programme of the same name.
