For a while now, it's been known that ufotable will begin broadcasting their own anime adaptation of Type-Moon's visual novel Fate/stay night this October, following on from the success of their 2011 adaptation of Gen Urobuchi's Fate/Zero light novel prequel series. At an event in Tokyo earlier today, the staff behind the series confirmed a few details about the upcoming series:

This new series will follow the Unlimited Blade Works route of the original game, which was also adapted into a theatrical feature by Studio DEEN in 2010.

The series will begin broadcasting on 4th October 2014 and like Fate/Zero, will be split into two halves. The second half will begin in April 2015.

The opening theme will be "ideal white" by Mashiro Ayano, while the ending theme will be performed by Kalafina.
