Well, erm, I gave into my eBay buying urges...again, this time buying this lot: Link.

I'm not sure if it's a bargain or not to be quite honest. They're Geneon DVD's, so their value is risen simply by the fact they're OOP, but I don't know an awful lot about the series. The reviews on animecritic.com for the 3 DVD box set and the value of the set made me deicide to go for it.

Anyone know anything about El Hazard who can rate my latest eBay purchase? >___<
 
I've only seen the 11 OVAs that make up series 1 and 2 so far, but I think it's an excellent series.

OK so it's not deep or have a plot that will make your ears fall off as your brain explodes, but that's to it's merit, it's just an enjoyable romp.

( Although I will admit, the person who voices Jinnai 'really' started to get on my tits, his voice is just so annoying. )

I have heard, that the The Wanderers is just a re-version of the OVAs made into a series, and that it isn't as good, but I havn't seen it so I have no opinion on that.
 
good bargin there tbh, it's hard to get the 2nd OAV nowerdays (even i'm struggling to find it)

The Wanderers is a seperate retelling of the oav's

I bought the 3 disks that make up the re-release ( under Genon instead of Pioneer ) of the 11 OAVs only a month ago. I must have been really lucky to get them then. :?

The first OVA (seven episodes) is a classic. Everything thereafter is a rehash designed to cash in on its success; not bad but not entirely necessary either. That's a good price, though.
 
Light hearted stuff generally isn't my thing. I'm sure I'll like it if it's high quality regardless, but I've grown to have an automatic dislike for childish series.

Oh well, I suppose even if everything aside from the first 7/11 episodes of the OVA are bad I can still be happy at owning a classic series. :D
