Eden of the East Complete Collection Question...

Hey everyone,

I want to apologise in advance if I'm posting this in the wrong section...

I'm interested in picking up the Eden of the East series on Blu - I've never seen it before, so please, no spoilers...

I noticed there's a "Complete Collection" set as well as just the "Complete Series" - Now, I realise that the difference between the sets is that one contains the series AND the movies and the other is just the series.

Are there any other differences aside from that? Does the 'Complete Collection' have anything more in terms of features aside from the movies?

Lastly, are the movies worth it? Did the creator(s) of the series have any input into the movies? or is it like Bleach and Dragonball Z where for the most part, the movies are just "filler" and "stand alone" and add very little to the series?

Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Bleach fan, but the movies don't really do anything for me. I wanted to make sure it wasn't the same case with Eden of the East.

I'm wondering whether it's worth spending the extra £10+ to get the complete boxset with the movies or just stick with the series, however, if the movies add on to the overall lore/continuity of the series and aren't just complete 'random' storylines, I think it could be worth it.

Thank you all in advance. Please, if you're going to attempt to explain where within the continuity of the series that the movies fit in (if at all) then please, no spoilers. I've heard nothing but great things about Eden of the East and being a huge fan of Ghost in the Shell SAC, it's definitely a series I'm most looking forward to checking out.

Thanks again! :)

The Eden of the East movies are actually direct sequels of the anime and they finish the story, so they are very much needed. The story is left incomplete without them. Let's just say, after watching the series, I immediately went and purchased the movies.

Also, if you have a blu-ray player - get it on blu-ray. Even the series looks absolutely amazing on blu-ray.

Anime in general looks absolutely gorgeous on Blu-ray. Whenever available, I always purchase anime on Blu :)

Thanks a ton Joshawott, I just added it to my shopping basket!

as Joshawott said.....
The films are a direct sequel to the series and closes the story. Without the movies, the series is incomplete.

Oh, and yes. They are definitely worth it! I double dip to get the BD's, as it really adds to it.
