DVD Storage Expert With Much Argos Experience Needed!!!!!!!!

Well I don't have much experience when it comes to Argos (that's my mum's area), but if it were me I'd just go with the "760 CD Cabinet - Oak". 378 DVDs is quite a lot, but its also quite expensive.

I saw one in the last Argos catalogue (so they might not do it anymore) that had quite a lot of storage for no way near that price. If I find the number I'll post again.

Well, y'see, my mother has been annoyed by the mess that is my room and decided to get me the first + shelf. However, I'm in two minds over keeping it or going with the 2 in my second link instead... :|

I fail to see a problem with how I keep DVD's I have until the 3 stacks touch the ceiling myself, but....

1st one is a big seller at the store i work at, me and chaz have it myself too

Sweet! Could you or your bro post pictures later on? I'd love to see how it looks with DVD's on before starting fixing it up. :D

Go in store and see if they have any set up to try and judge how sturdy they are, some Argos stuff will fall apart if you sneeze near it. Although I am not a big fan of Ikea maybe you should have a look at what they have to offer as they are famed for their storage solutions.

My local Argos is **** - There is near to nothing on display, certainly no DVD storage units. I can only go on what's shown in the catalogue.

As I said above, I have the first 2 linked to sitting downstairs waiting for me to unpack them, the problem being I want to be sure I want the £80 unit before fixing it up. :)

I'm guessing they're pretty good if Ryo/his brother both have one, but I would like to see how they look with 300 DVD's on. *blinks eyes in a gay manner at Ryo*

not a great pic but

not full but plenty of space for boxsets ect

and u can set how high you want the shelves

It looks very nice. Thanks for being good enough to post.

I like your box sets. Where do you live? I would like to come around at 3 AM in the morning in a balaclava.

You've now created another problem for me: I want the mahogany version. >_<

That looks like it could hold many DVD's... How many can you fit on it?

I have these ones too, I think I can get around 50 DVDs per shelf (hard to count with so many wonky-sized boxes). The annoying thing about them is that the shelves are too spaced out so the bottom shelf of mine is double-layered. I also put artboxes along the top as I have too many discs.

The big spacing is in some ways an advantage though - allows me to put some stupidly sized boxes on there that wouldn't fit in a proper DVD cabinet. You can adjust the heights so up to 4 rows are tightly positioned and 2 are extra large (1 of which at least can be double stacked). Or you could buy a piece of wood and add another shelf I guess if you were less lazy than me.

I liked the price too.

That looks pretty useful. I have two DVD/game/book storage units, but the one I use for my games and books is getting close to full, and the anime/manga one is close behind. However, I don't have much space to put them since I have one wall that is made up of 3 wardrobes (yes my room is big), one wall has my door with my PC on one side, and a heater on the other. On another wall, I have my window, and there's not much room on either side. The only remaining wall slopes inward halfway up (I have a low roof).

I have to really plan ahead before buying furniture/storage.

Just for simplicity since there wouldn't be too much difference in price and size if I went for the other options, I'm thinking about keeping what I have waiting to be unpacked (the beech version of Ryo's DVD unit)..... What would you guys do?

I find myself longing for the mahogany version, but it's a lot of trouble to take it back just for a change of colour. I also have no other mahogany furniture in my room. :P

It is about 50 per shelf, but the bottom shelf I have double stacked as there's only 5 shelves, but it's fine for what it needs to do. The ones listed at the top are too rich for my tastes, but I do need some other stands myself (probably one the same height just half as wide.

Tch, what a rip-off... You can only fit 332 DVD's vertically on the shelves; not 376. Not sure how they got 376 since you can get a lot more than 376 if you place the DVD's horizontally...

Do I see that green haired girl from Code Geass on there? That must be a Japanese import, or a figure? (Next to the Wolf's Rain boxset)

Quite a few things I don't recognise on there actually. Awesome collection!

I can safely say (If I'm looking at the same girl haired girl as you) It is most definitely not C.C. from Geass. Look at the rest of the cast, They don't even look remotely CLAMP. Its some random from one of Ryo's beloved fanservice titles, I believe. ;p Still, Awesome collection of Artboxes there.
