DVD cover-art: MVM April

Not very interested in either of these ( although I may pick up Haibane once its all released ) , but certainly nice art for both boxes. I can see non-anime fans picking up Gungrave based on the cover actually.

Im very excited about these releases and looking at the box arts makes me want them more. Im looking forward to Haibane more then gungrave as it has that dark feel to it that fruits basket has.

I already have Haibane Renmei, it looks like the UK releases don't get different covers from the US version!
The Gungrave cover looks pretty cool! I have to admit the only reason I bought Trigun was the front cover pictures! but I don't know what Gungrave is about :(

Haibane Renmei is really good. If you've seen Kino's Journey, it's like that. It shares its director with Serial Experiments Lain and Texhnolyse. The cover looks great too.

Gungrave is good too, sort of like a gangster thriller x Trigun x the undead.

......and Niea Under 7; everyone forgets about that one and if you haven't seen it you really should :D
Thought I should just add quickly, that although Niea_7 has a few serious moments, it is in eliment a comedy and a very good one at that :D

Lain is one of the few animes , that no matter how many times I watch and enjoy it, I still have no idea whats going on.

Havent actually seen any of the others mentioned here so perhaps I will look into a few of the eventually . Seeing as I do like deep anime on occasion :)

The review discs for these DVDs turned up earlier on Saturday. I'm just about to watch Gungrave #1, but thought I'd chime in with some comments on the DVD trailers; Paranoia Agent and Texhnolyze are the chosen ones this time and both are great- I'd even go so far as to say the Paranoia Agent trailer is the best anime trailer I've seen for a long time (pre-DVD), it's very suspensful and exciting. And I now can't wait to see it!

They certainly are trailering Paranoia Agent early.

I have to admit i know nothing about that show, just that it has a kick ass dub by New Gen pictures. (oh and that there was some HUGE over the top upset about a translation decision on another forum i go to.)

It's by the director of Perfect Blue, Millenium Actress and Tokyo Godfathers, and it's a fantastic show, it can't really be categorised into any of the well-known genres. It's basically a psychological thriller.
Echoes of Perfect Blue then.

I'm really looking forward to watching it again.
