Dubtitles will hopefully become a thing of the past

Well after receiving a reply to my email, Managa Ent. have explained about the dubtitles on Naruto releases.

Aparently it was because they couldn't get hold of the japanese script in time for the expected release date. So they decided in the end to use the dub script. The helpful person who replied to my email said: "It was not an easy decision to make, but I decided this is what we should do in order to get the DVDs out on time and avoid disappointing our customers. "

He then went on to explain: "I can happily tell you now that all future Naruto releases from Manga will definitely include the correct Japanese to English translated subtitles and dubtitles will hopefully become a thing of the past. I can also confirm to you that our Bleach releases will most definitely include the correct English subtitles. "

Well that's put me at ease. I can put up with two volumes of dubtitles as long as now they recitfy the problem with future releases.

Maltos.

No, the dubtitles, were the subtitles that appeared on vol 2:1 and 2:2 of Naruto. Instead of having subtitles from the original japanese scipt. The subtitles were the dub script. Thus losing alot of meaning in the translation.

Will they bring out a new version of these DVDs at any point coz I haven't bought them yet. I'd wait till the propper subtitles come on sale otherwise.

Or they just gonna stay with dubtitles now they're on sale?

Well i asked them about a re-release of the dubtitled volumes, but he didnt mention it in his reply so i assume, it's not in plan at the moment. But the future volumes are all gonna be real subtitles.

Well that's good enough stuff like. Mite still keep away from naruto for a few months though. Just to make sure :)

It's always anoyed me when I've had a DVD and fancied watching the sub. Then getting basic dubtitles to read. Takes alot of the magic away from the experience.

All I have to do now is learn Japanese and I'll be sorted :D

I'm not touching any Naruto or Bleach DVD's until I know for sure they don't include dubtitles.

Do the US Natuo 2:1 and 2:2 box sets also have dubtitles?

Err, don't Manga Ent. release Naruto in yankland then? I'll have to get busy importing if that's the case. Even when non-dubtitled, the Naruto subtitles on 1:1 and 1:2 have been very poor.

I'm happy though now. I'll leave Naruto for a while, although i've been planning on buying them. As long as i know Bleach will br treated properly i'll be happy to buy the Bleach volumes.

good to hear about the suubtitles returning..
i am very keen on picking up the Bleach DVD's, however for some reason i want to get the R1 season 1 boxset, that releases the end of next month....hmmm.
however, i also would like to get the UK, ones..mainly because Manga ent relases the 3 discs on one dvd case (saves shelf space) and also, the UK releases get's rid of that annoying "Shonen Jump" title that is above every single one of their shows..(i.e. Naruto, One Piece, Black cat, Bleach).
i dont know why i am being so fussy for no reason....any opinions lol.

will the 'dubtitles' on the naruto series 2 box set (contianing volume 2:1 and 2:2) be corrected to be the correct subtitlres or will the box set contain the same 'dubtitles' that are in 2:1 and 2:2?

Well i asked about a re-release of the current volumes with correct subtitles, but unfortunatley he didnt answer that question.

My opinion though is that they will change to the correct subtitles for the boxset after the confirmation that all future releases should contain subtitles due to the huge negative reaction they've had to the dubtitles.
