DreamWorks Pictures have acquired the domestic distribution rights to the much vaunted Japanese live-action film Casshern. Based on a 1970's anime series, the futuristic Casshern film has been getting movie fans excited ever since its CG heavy trailer hit the Internet way back in early 2004.

Given it has been stated that DreamWorks' acquired the domestic (US) rights for Casshern, this leads to the suggestion that they have no plans to release the film elsewhere around the world (including the UK).

I have a feeling this a similiar kind of deal to those they have set up for Millenium Actress and Ghost in the Shell 2. In short, we may have a long wait on our hands before Casshern hits UK theartes (or even DVD).
