The Majin Boo Saga was garbage. Good thing they're not airing it.

Yeah, I agree, one of my favourite scenes (When Trunks slices up Freeza) looks just as awful as it did in Z

It was meant to suck, Shonen Jump kept wanting Akira Toriyama to make new chapters, so he came up with the most rediculous plotline ever.

Somehow, IMO, it's still pretty awesome :lol:

How do we know there not just moving it to a different time slot or putting it on hiatus till toriko's had its 26 episode run?

It's definately not moving to a different timeslot, and I think Toriko's gonna be another long runner. It might return if either Toriko or One Piece go on a year long hiatus.

It's 2/3rds of the way through Z. It didn't cover the first series, Dragon Ball, which is 153 episodes

If you're asking cos you wanna watch Kai, then the Buu arc with Z, then watch in this order...

Dragon Ball: 1-153
Dragon Ball Z Kai: 1-98
Dragon Ball Z: 200-291

There's also...
Dragon Ball Z: 108-117
Dragon Ball Z: 195-199
Dragon Ball GT: 1-64 & A Hero's Legacy
Dragon Ball Movies 1-4
Dragon Ball Z Movies 1-13

..which are all optional and filler.

Also, there's some non-filler specials
Bardock: Father of Goku
History of Trunks
Goku and Friends Return! (not dubbed yet)

It wouldn't hurt to start with Dragon Ball Z Kai. You will find out a spoiler at the start (He's really an alien from the planet Vegeta. Their race is known as the Saiyans), which might ruin the first series for you, but most of the Westen Hemisphere suffered the same problem, so I wouldn't worry.

I wonder though, is this ending as in "Production Ending" or will the Buu saga be DVD only?

DVDs don't sell that well in Japan. They're like 50,000 yen for 4 episodes or something like that, so I doubt they'd go DVD only

2800 for 3, it's a kids show, different pricing. (about what it would cost if we still had dvd singles releases)
15-20k per box (4-5 disk) for BDs.

7k for 2 eps on BD (5k on dvd) is normal for late night stuff, which is what tops BD charts.

This show is making money off TV adverts (very high ratings) and toy sales, not disks.
 
Well, I'm happy with my DBZ boxsets, but it is a shame that the series that's "closer to the manga" will miss out the last few volumes of story!

It's not a good saga. You cannot possibly justify saying it's good. Also, the Cell Saga had Hercule in it too.

Nah, I think they're just cutting the Land of Tea saga and eps 136-220
 
Seeing as this is where the Manga was originally meant to end after Cell saga it makes more sense to end it here than to go with the Boo saga

On Topic, i do agree with the idea that DB should have ended with Cell, Goku passing the reins to Gohan would be a good ending.

The only fault I find with the Cell ending is that Vegeta's still a complete dick.

It's not until the SSJ3 Goku (I think) vs Kid Buu fight that he realises he shouldn't bother competing with Goku.

Yeah, but with one or two exceptions, I don't notice. Plus it looks great on my widescreen plasma TV! That makes up for loss of the edges, well in my mind anyway. I'm not one of those people who get to obsessed with having things in their exact original quality.
