It has been annouced that the fantasy anime Dog Days is to be given a second season.

The news was announced by HMV's anime department during a special promotional event, the Flonya Festival 2011 in Tokyo.

The first season ran for 13 episodes between April and June this year. The story is set in the fantasy world of Flonyard, populated by kemonomimi characters, in particular doggirls and catgirls. In this world, war is a sport-like contest in which no-one gets killed and is used to raise money. A boy from modern-day Japan, Cinque Izumi (who is half-Japanese, half-Cornish), is summoned to Flonyard by doggirl Princess Millhiore of the Biscotti Republic to fight as a warrior against the Galette Lion Army, lead by catgirl Princess Leonmitchelli.

It was certainly one of the better not tiger and bunny things of the season, that's for sure. (Though given that the biggest thing it had to go against was C, that's not saying much).

Huh. I found the first series to be pretty naff and even Norio Wakamoto sounded like he was phoning it in. Started off cute enough but became a chore to watch in the end.
