Go to the companies website (people who supplied the dvdrw) and download the drivers directly from them, this will allow you to install the dvdrw without having to use the install disc
i phoned up the support line told the guy my prob he said "nope no other way around it BUT do me a favour, do this, this and this. now restart ur computer..."

something to do with code 39. he says it happens all the time! so guys if ur dvd rw ever stops working go microsoft.com type "code 39" into the search engine and follow the instructions, u can have it workin again in 30seconds
Hmm... Have you tried putting the name of your model into google and just putting drivers on the end? this usually works, bit of a basic answer i know but its the only thing i can come up with lol.
