Right, i've had this problem since yesterday, when me brother set everything up into my new case and added a graphics card. Everything looked fine when it got set up, power was obviously going through it because the keyboard turned on, but...the computer itself but hitting the power button wouldn't do anything. I had a thought that it could be the motherboard itself, but why would power still go through it =/

Any ideas?

Motherboards usually beep if something is not connected properly, such as the graphic card. Check your motherboard manual and if possible, check if the card is properly fit.

Could it be the case that the power supply is fully connected, but some other component is not? If one were to presume this, the solution could be anything from a component not being in place to a missing jumper.

Admittedly, your brother would probably be more knowledgeable of the installation than myself, primarily in virtue of his instrumental role in it.

Throw the motherboard manual at him.

Problem solved actually. We had a look about, there was a couple of unnecessary cables attached here and there that where basically stopping the computer from turning on. noticed that the motherboard itself was fine when removing everything bar the power connection brought with it an ear piercing beep. So yeah, all sorted, somehow. Thanks anywho for input of any sort. i'll close this over now since there is no real need for it now.
