Chinese Olympics Thread

Yep, the first part of the opening was incredible (though I missed the first half hour :/). Bravo China! :] The globe segment was especially spectacular!

Yeah, the opening was pretty impressive. I think the fact that I didn't have a clue how they were doing this incredible stuff amazed me even more :p (Like that thing when they unraveled the scroll?!? o__o).

I missed the opening, but caught most the countries walking around the "Bird's Nest".

I thought the Chinese choir was impressive... at least the part sung in Chinese (not that the English was "bad" when they changed, it just didn't have the same appeal for me).

Good stuff all round.

Really good, though i only watched 40 minutes of it..that sort of mellow chinese music has a habit of making me drowsy.

Saw a big portion of it yesterday, and agreed- it was excellent.

The 27? firework footprints that led to the birds really blew me away.

Caught some of the opening ceremony on the TV while having my lunch at work yesterday. Quite honestly I'd rather watch that than the games themselves! I'm sure each hosting country is trying to outdo what the last one did four years previously but still...it looked fantastic.

Well I will be cheering for Naomi Folkard on Thursday as she made it through to the last 16 of the Archery. Pitty she had to put Charlotte Burgess out to get there though.

Tomorrow I will be cheering on the guys. Especially Alan Wills, as I know him and have shot against him quite often in field archery.

Just checked that out... was really good =) archery and fencing are two sports I'd like to try... It's a pity they are so expensive..
