This is the Castlevania thread for discussing all things castlevania.

Anyone looking forward to the game Castlevania: Lord of shadows. It looks alot like devil may cry... though i guess devil may cry took alot from castlevania.

I have that game. Not too bothered about Rondo of Blood & wishing I didn't have to complete it to unloack Symphony of the Night, which is the main reason I bought it.

I love this game series, although i'm more of a fan of the DS games mind, but i did always want to play Sympothy of the Night ever since i saw it on a Saturn magazine wayyyy back

thats hows...

how obscure is that to get for it to be such a big part of the game 0_o

I'm playing through Symphony of the Night right now on XBLA. Just reached the (lame) inverted castle.

Portrait of Ruin on the DS was pretty good, but I hated Order of Ecclesia. Going old skool, Castlevania IV on the SNES is an all time classic, although it's in the old linear style of 'Vania games. Great music too.

YES! I have unlocked Symphony of the Night on PSP now!

WOO THANKYOU SKIKES!

no worries ^_^

and keade tbh i prefer the linear style of gameplay... after i unlocked symphony of the night i couldnt play. I just can't play rpgs. It just takes too much time investment. I like that when playing a game im not gonna go wandering for hours only to find out i have to back track because i missed a crystal or a sword somewhere. bleh!

i like playing games in little bursts.

I got Castlevania:Symphony of the Night back when it was released on the Playstation 1.

I got an artbook & soundtrack disc with my copy. I have still got this and the JRPGs from the PS1. I traded in most of the other games.

Im playing through symphony of the night at the moment... never played it before, its quite hard. Not that far into it. Only got past the doppleganger. Im not keen on all the back tracking i have to do and all the items i need to find. Other than that i love it, great art work and gameplay

Anyone seen the trailer for Castlevania lord of shadows? looks decent.

On the PS1 version, if you entered your name as 'AxeArmor' you would begin the game with a bonus item that turned you into an AxeArmor, which is one of those enemies in armor....with axes.

I take back every bad thing i said about symphony of the night. I just completed it, couldnt put it down until i got 200.6%. Now working on getting all the weapons and shiz! 0_o

Personally I like using the Shield Rod & Alucard Shield, as with the Alucard Shield, the Shield Rod's special attack becomes AMAZING. That combo pisses all over even that giant boss in the reverse catacombs.
