Buso Renkin

sanji no 1

Vampire Ninja
As some of you might know Manga.ent are releasing Buso renkin vol. 1 on August 11, 2008. And vol. 2 is released October 6, 2008. Just wondering if anyone knows if Buso Renkin is any good. I might buy it but im not really sure if i should. Anyone know if its any good?

I have the first set from the US. I was ready not to think much of it, but it really got hold of me and now I want the second set. Must find out when it is out in the US, probably July or August from the UK dates.

I went into the series knowing only two things 1) the manga was created by the guy who did Rurouni Kenshin 2) that alchemy was involved somehow. After reading the first two vols i pretty much ordered the rest of them (only 10 vols in the series). So yeah i loved the series :p Had a nice mix of action and humour, and from what a friend tells me the anime is almost a perfect conversion...Plus i'm addicted to the opening

Standard shounen stuff. You like shounen, you'll like Busou Renkin. You don't, you won't.
Difference being than rather than being stretched out over 300+ episodes it's contained to only 26. I haven't seen the series but that sounds like a plus to me.

Mmm, you've got a point - although the reason it's so short is that it's manga run was prematurely cancelled, iirc, so take from that what you will. I don't think the anime leaves you hanging or anything, however.

When you say shounen do you mean anime made by Shounen Jump? Like naruto and dragonball z?
Yeah, pretty much along those lines.

Any work from Nobuhiro Watsuki after Kenshin isn't all that good, I guess you could watch it though, if you want.

actually, he had a hard time publishing the series to the end, as you can read through his notes on the manga. Kenshin is epic, the rest is not. :( but Buso Renkin can be enjoyed if you're not expecting too much of it. BTW, Mahiro = Orihime and this in so many aspects that is difficult to believe they are not the same character.... =P
