Burst Angel. Anything special?

I was wondering what the general opinion is on Burst Angel?

I hadn't heard of it but spotted a few models on www.tokyotoys.com so I "aquired" the first couple of episodes. My current opinion is: "meh". Does it get any better or should I let this one pass me by :)

i thought that Burst angel was a good action anime.
sure the story is lame and there doesnt seem to be anything else that makes it stand out in the anime library, but i liked the action, character designs and the style.

all i can say is that, dont expect anything ''OMG AWSOME''

This is almost spooky. I was within a left click of posting the same question yesterday but at the last second thought it probably wasn’t worth it as I thought I could probably predict the responses. I myself have been toing and froing over buying Burst Angel for ages now and I had another attack of the ‘shall I shan’t I’s’ yesterday.

Most of what I’ve heard about the show is bad. ie a muddled plot that runs out of steam, dodgy cgi, clichéd characters etc (as has more or less been typed above) but for some reason it still appeals to me in some way, but I just don’t know why. Maybe it’s the gun toting Rei Ayanami look-alike aspect of it? Plus the US box set looks quite stunning. I just can’t make my mind up over this one.

I liked it as a good action anime, but it had 2 flaws in my opinion, one was the fact that the guy you are first introduced to is set up as the main character but then is barely in it and pretty much stays as there chef. Two I found the ending wrong for some reason, it just didn;t seem to sit right with me

I stopped after vol. 3. It has a very common patern to it, and it starts to bore me after a while...
Meg gets captured, rescue attempt, Jo saves Meg. Meg gets captured- etc. With few exceptions, like the chinese party with Sei.

I did like the character designs. I did think of Meg as a more tough character through design, but she whines and moans... I wanted her to fire 10ft long riffles like in the intro... :(

Like the other's have said, it's so-so, but it's more show than story.

This is exactly the way I felt about it. It was enjoyable to watch but some things were just a little off. ( Although I loved the 'very' end with Meg in her new outfit alongside her new 'friend'. :D )

So i'm 'not' the only one that noticed that. :D It would have been funny if they'd managed to get Amanda Winn to be her voice instead of Monica Rial. :p

I totally agree with the liking the very ending with Meg and her new friend that was very cool, its just too bad about the 20 minutes before that.
