Hmm. I just thought they make characters with large eyes because 1) they look cuter and 2) larger eyes make it easier to convey emotion. Maybe there is more to it than that!

I'll definitely look into buying this book though, and will recommend it to friends of mine who are studying film and suchlike. It seems like yet another early sign of anime getting mainstream interest!

I've got my copy in the post from Amazon. It will be the first anime related 'hard back' that I own so I'm looking forward to reading it and seeing how much bizarre philosophy and influences make it into the reviews.
