The Boss
Now in its fourth year, Brighton Japan is returning for 2012! Brighton Japan is the UK's largest annual celebration of Japanese culture, with events taking place in Brighton's most prestigious venues over eight days at the end of June.

The festival will host many exciting events throughout the week, including two riotous matsuri (street festivals), quality evening performances at the Festival Hub, a film festival at the Duke of York's Picturehouse and international performances at the Brighton Dome.

Festival highlights include:

MOSHI MATSURI | 23rd-24th June Free entry
Launching the Festival, the opening weekend will be a lively collection of Japanese music and performances, traditional children's games, workshops and street processions, as well as a profusion of shitamachi-style stalls selling all sorts of street food and Japanese goods.

HÔMU | 22nd June - 1st July Ticketed - see website for events / prices
Located in the dome tent adjacent to Moshi Moshi, the Hub will be home to exquisite and exciting evening events throughout the week - including film screenings, live bands and lots more!

ASAHI ANIME FESTIVAL | 30th - 1st July Free entry
The UK's only festival to combine sun, sea and anime, the Asahi Anime Festival is a delirious and colourful celebration of Japanese pop culture with cosplay contests, manga drawing and karaoke competitions galore.

Brighton Japan is proud to be working with premier Brighton venues including The Brighton Dome & Pavilion, Duke of York's Picturehouse, Moshi Moshi, and Hotel du Vin.

From Press release.

Grr at the fact that this has been going only since the year I moved out of Brighton :p
Glad to see stuff like this happening around the UK though, and Brighton is a fun city for it :)

I have decided not to go, since there is a bunch of anime I would like to buy :p

I remember going there a few years ago, was great fun. Sung Hare Hare Yukai at the karaoke.
