Bleach [dub]

So, I'd just like to ask if there's been any confirmation that the dubbed Bleach episodes will be coming out on DVD over here? Also, what is the dub like? Thanks! ^_^

Not sure about the DVD...as the for voices some of them are ok though I hate the way they pronounce Ichigo's name(They say it as ee-chi-go). Hitsugaya's voice is way too old for him. Kenpachi's is ok I guess...(it's the voice of the guy who dubs Jiraiya in Naruto if you watch). The worst voice is probably Ichimaru Gin. They made him sound like a freak...

Ichigo sounded ok, Ishida sounded wrong, Urahara sound pretty good actually, Chad sounded right although he isn't exactly hard to dub :p, Orihime just sounds annoying but then again she does in the Japanese as well :p. The most annoying thing is they say Kon as *kone* or at least it sounds like that to me.
As for the DVDs, if we look at Viz media animes past in the UK its not great. Naruto got licensed, Inuyasha took several years and even when we got it, it was only 12 eps out of 170. Hikaru no go hasn't been released here, Ranma 1/2 hasn't been released here except for a couple of movies and those are the really big series they have. If they haven't been released here I doubt the Bleach DVDs will unless we get a miracle. Although interestingly enough they all got released in Australia, maybe some companies here should take a leaf out of Madman’s book :(.

Looking at the US releases it looks like a total rip off at four episodes per volume. You would have thought they would have gone with boxsets like Naruto(they had 13 episodes each right?).

I've got a feeling Manga might be the ones to pick it up if it gets released in the UK.

I dunno, usually it comes on TV first before they start releasing the DVDs like Naruto.

I can't really think of any channel that wants to take Bleach Uncut. As for the Dub, its pretty good.

But watch the Subs, they are far more better, and more fitting for the character.

Well Inuyasha has never been aired on TV as far as I know and that's being released.

Yeah, but the problem was... Inuyasha is aimed at the Females, which no channel would take it on because they want to focus on the "Males". Which sucks, and my quote still stands "Screw men and their so called Manly Shows".

But thats a different story

One of my main problems with Dubs is the strong American accents the characters are given, and this is no exception with Bleach, that said i have only seen episode 1 - 5 of the dub.

But as for DVD releases, i don't really see much of a future; especially with America's 4 episode approach, around 8 episode is better.

Then TV, i have thought about the right placement many a time for UK TV and there really isn't a place anywhere; Bravo would be the most likely to pick it up, but as that stands, the chances are very very slim. I would have said Rapture TV; but thats kind of defunct now. : D

Maybe it'll be shown on Animax if we get it?

Probably, But would NARUTO also get picked up by Animax, due to that in Japan; NARUTO airs on TV Tokyo and Animax.

Dunno , maybe, i expect if we get animax most big mainstream series i.e. Bleach, Naruto, One Piece so on will get shown. But then again maybe they'll do something interesting and show less popular stuff. Guess time will tell.. Anyway as for Bleach being shown before then didn't they say at London Expo that Viz has been heavily promoting it along with Death Note to UK TV channels? Plus I expect the American ratings will play a part?

I disagree.

Can you explain a bit more instead of just speaking two words ¬¬

And about Viz promoting Anime on UK TVWell, the only Big channel I know that will take it on is prolly CHannel 4 or 5... But thats when trouble start brewing, especially when Sky one buys the right, if it proves a big hit.

I've seen much of the dubbed & I really enjoyed it. I'm hoping they annouce UK DVDs soon cause I wannit

Someone Shout at Manga to go pick it up

Shoenen JUMP's properties don't have a good history in the UK, so I'm not so sure we'll be seeing Bleach DVDs soon :-( Like someone else said, Naruto and InuYasha took ages to get over here, despite being very popular.

Viz don't exist in the UK, so it'd be hard for them to promote anime on UK TV.

Viz exist in Europe, so that includes the UK as well... Its been mentioned countless times as Viz Europe updates the Anime ready to be licensed in the UK or Europe. Mind you, Viz only sell Anime to the people who wish to show it on TV or release it on DVD

Numerous dub characters are superior to the "original" voices, like Orihime, Ishida, Hanatarou, Ganju, Hitsugaya, etc.
