Bioshock

I honestly have no idea why we don't have a Bioshock topic, I guess the AUKN community has a far different taste from my other communities when it comes to games in general. Bioshock has been getting quite a few perfect scores since various media outlets got the chance to play the game, and it's coming it soon for all the enjoy. You can download the demo from the XBL Marketplace right now, I've heard nothing but praise for this game so far, so I'd like to hear what you people think of this FPS. Watch some videos, play the demo, whatever, just let us know what you think.

I'll add to that praise from what i have seen, although i have yet to download the demo from Xbox live. It looks great, in all aspects, gameplay, graphics, and so on. Its out tuesday in the US and on friday here, so i'll be picking it up sometime around then.

played the demo, it was good and I'm considering a purchase of the full game this friday when I get an xbox 360 (gave my old one to my brother for his birthday, been xbox less for 3 weeks :( ). Not sure whether to buy it or not, the demo didn't blow me away but it was enjoyable. I'm more looking forward to call of duty 4 and halo 3 at the moment, oh and LAIR on PS3.

BioShock looks absolutely fantastic! I wish I had a 360 or a decent enough PC to play it. I will eventually be getting a PS3 anyway (because of FFXIII and MGS4) so fingers crossed it does end up coming to PS3 (which, in all likelyhood, it will) ^_^

I've looked at Bioshock and I want it for my pc as it would really let me test out its full power, but I don't get on well with games that have limited ammo and make you decide whether to collect items for later use or use them for upgrades as I always go for upgrades and then get stuck in random places.

At the moment S.T.A.L.K.E.R. online has me hooked I love the idea that it makes you start out with weak weapons and the more people you kill the better weapons are unlocked for you

Going off-topic real quick, there's a prequel to S.T.A.L.K.E.R in development at the moment, they're looking to fix up the mistakes they made with the original. I thought you might want to know if you already didn't.

Ooo just found out that Bioshock is gonna be released on PS3 albeit god knows when. Am i tard for not knowing this sooner?

Regardless its good news, im prepared to wait and it gives me another game to drool at in my spare time :D

Yeah I heard about it, they have a lot to fix as the main game is aweful to play as there is too many limitations imposed on the player. However the online is brilliant I play it as often as I can I even prefer it to counter strike

I'll be getting it in time, but my current PC isn't up to the task and i've put off getting a new one for another half year (as I have for the last two years!).

So far the only valid criticism i've heard of the game is that it isn't System Shock 3. Which is a pretty damning criticism really :p

I got the game yesterday, and it is just as great as i thought it would be. the graphics are crisp, the combat with weapons or plasmids is good to, the fact that the surroundings can play a part in how you can attack certain enemies is good, like for example oil on the ground can be set alight or you can electrify water. So far i'm very much impressed.

I got it today...had a £20 Woolies voucher thing, so got the steelbook (mmm...steelbook) version for £15.

Haven't played it yet (and probably won't for a while...I'm too busy with Blue Dragon right now.

Got the super deluxe version with the 6 inch Big Daddy model. Looks GREAT, only one problem. Can hear anything. All in game sound is deader the a line flares with patches over the knees. Already died a few times cause i didn't hear guys behind me. Tech support is a broken pencil (pointless). Hopeing for a patch soon or i'll have to get a new sound card or something.

I completed Bioshock last night, and i must say, if you want an FPS for the 360, this is a must have. The game words wonders, only problem is loading times, bar that, the game is top notch. Achievements are pretty easy to get too, out of all 50, i got about 36-37 in one playthrough. I can't wait to try it out on hard.

Bioshock is coool, I love the "harshness" ie people bing beaten and drilled to death... Nice to see something where hitting people with a wrench does more than just give a puff of blood and they fall down.

I'm really enjoying it, at the dentists atm...

I feel like a very bad person for enjoying electrocuting people, then braining them with a wrench. Manhunt here I come... :'(

Oh well...I rescue Little Sisters, so it balances out. >_>

For those of you who enjoy reading well-written and interesting gaming articles, check out this one from SexyVideoGameLand. The article discusses the choices given to you in games like Bioshock, and how they don't really affect the outcome of the game but help us feel as if we're the ones in control.

Been playing when ever i can, now to arcadia. I'm most impressed, the games ability to "put you in the moment" is great.

The first time you mee a houdini splicer is a seriously creep fest. Top marks!

Also the way the game allows you to play the way you want. I make safe zones, where i have friendly turrets and security and draw any groups of bad guys to the waiting guns.

Are you a H (er) or a L (er)? I'm a saver, i prefer to play games the way i am, IE i play my role in theur universe :)

Art direction is great. My only nit would be that the splicers could do with nicer textures.
