Hmm i was considering looking into this but i wasn't sure. i wanted to know yours thoughts on it, is it a good anime to look into or is it something a bit more so-so
 
The TV series was unfinished, as the manga was (and still is) ongoing, so if you look into it don't expect a solid conclusion, and as Rukario said, it's pretty darn violent.
Still, I think it's quite a good series, the characters are well thought-out.
 
It also barely covers the story. Berserk, while a great anime, and a great manga, is famous for leaving off at what amounts to a cliffhanger. The events as described in the anime are really the prelude to the whole story (Okay, in the manga it takes about 10-12 volumes to arrive at this stage too).

Its afterwards that you realise that you have just seen a 25 episode chunk of back-story.

It is good though. But if you are expecting to get into it further, you have a lot of manga ahead of you (last volume in japan was 30 or 31, Dark Horse are only up to about 12/13.
 
My favourite anime of all time. Great, compelling characters dealing with their lives gradually changing, searching for meaning in their existence. Epic action in a medieval setting, so while not exactly wonderfully animated, the battles go down on a massive scale involving thousands of people. The soundtrack is wonderful and while it is violent, it isn't needless and has proper repercussions. Basically Berserk is a wonderful anime - if you like action anime with great characters, then you should really give it a shot.
