Beautiful Games

Have you ever been playing a game and suddenly stopped to admire the scenery in the game? Looked around and thought 'I'd like to come here on holiday' (if the zombie/ sand creatures/ heavily armed merc's weren't there)?
The one's that do it for me are
Prince of Persia, Sands of time,
Far Cry
Tomb Raider 3 (the tropical island level).

The views from the tops of mountains in Star Wars: Galaxies are gorgeous! What's also good about them is that you know that down there somewhere are people playing the game with you!

And I know it's a bit of an obsession of mine, but MYST! :D

i played for my "come back to us trial" and i think that might be an exageration :D its more like, hmm, i wonder if there is anyone else down there... :D

guild wars, for a game with v low sys specs, is v pretty, again on the mountains especially.

I'd holiday on HL2's Lost Coast if it wasn't swarming with transhuman soldiers and patrolled by helicopters and packing a large headcrab launching cannon.

HDR is nothing to do with "High Dynamic Range" lighting, it's a Holi-Day Resort.

Barring the, you know, pair of unstoppable alien menaces and total lack of anything -interesting- to do (unless you like shooting people in the face, natch), Halo Installation Zero-Four (the one from the first game) was a pretty nice place to hang out.

I wouldn't mind going to Illumina, either (Sudeki, awesome game, go play)

Phantasy Star Online on the Dreamcast had beautiful scenery. I've probably spent over a week in cumulative real-time there, & a good week it was. :D

i'll agree with Spira...the scenery there is nice even if there is fiends there. i can't remember much else but i'll try to think about it

yeah id have to go with spira preferably besaid island just cuz living there would be like on huge holiday but zanarkand (tidus's zanarkand youve peeps who completed the game you know what i on about )

but one place in a game other athn most of the scenery from FFX was belive it or not VICE CITY that place was all light up wit neons sweet 80's rock and when it was night time you could almost smell the fresh air...

but one that i kinda would aswell is halo the actual surface of halo from halo 1 it just looks so peacefull

When I first played Rygar: The Legendary Adventure a few years back it stunned me in its vision, particulary the section where you navigate above the clouds!

I think it struck me all the more because it was such an unknown game that I bought on the off-chance and that helped (though the voice acting and "script" is amongst the most appalling I've come across since the hilarious first Resident Evil game back ten or so years ago!).
