London's Barbican is often a great place to go to watch the latest anime on the big screen, and it appears that this summer will be no different, with the confirmation of numerous anime screenings over the months of June and July.

This batch of screenings begins in June with showings of AKIRA in its remastered form on Friday, June 17th at 6PM, and then June 18th to the 23rd at 8:30PM.

Wednesday, July 6th then sees a screening of Studio Ghibli's latest movie Arrietty at 7PM, following on from its May premiere in Sheffield.

The following day, July 7th, brings with it a double bill of anime movies, starting with Laputa: Castle in the Sky at 6PM (introduced by Helen McCarthy) before Trigun: Badlands Rumble gets an airing at 8:45PM.

Saturday, July 9th continues the Studio Ghibli theme with another double bill, made up of Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind at 2PM followed by Princess Mononoke at 4PM.

Saturday, July 30th brings My Neighbour Totoro to the big screen at 2PM, before the following day presents a 2PM screening of My Neighbours the Yamadas before Spirited Away gets an outing at 4PM.

Tickets for all of these screenings will go on sale Tuesday, May 10th at a cost of £9.50 online, or £10.50 to pay in person.

Cool, I'm pleased their showing Trigun, thats the only one I'll be tempted to see. I'm guessing Badlands rumble still doesn't have a confirmed DVD release date over here?
