Back after a number of years, any clubs happening in Sheff?

Hey all,

Just after some info really. I used to be a HUGE anime follower, went to alot of the conventions and was a proud gopher at Amecon 2004 (I think that was the year?)

I started training mixed martial arts about 6 years ago and since then every other hobby seems to have been pushed to the back. I randomly saw some GTO on youtube today and I was really reminded just how much I missed anime.

I was really after some information and any huge epic series I may have missed over the last 6 years that I should buy. Also if anyone knows of any clubs in Sheffield as I've not really got any friends who're into this and it would be nice to hang out on the end evening with some like minded fans. Also if anyone can recommend any upcoming conventions that're really good that would be amazing.

Sorry for all the questions ^_^ and thanks for any help in advance

Andy

Anything a little more specific? Do you mean huge epic as in "really long" or "really good"?

Welcome back to anime! You might like to know Satoshi Kon (Perfect Blue, Paprika etc) is dead. Hit us all hard, but his final movie is coming out posthumously this year. Secondly, they are remaking Berserk starting this year (YAY!) and a new Rurouni Kenshin project also got the green light (YAY!). I think that's all the major news.

As for anime, here is a massive amount of AWESOME stuff you can catch up on. The super-popular mainstream hits are in bold.
