So as most of you know, Baccano is coming out sson. Oh wait sorry i meant Baccano!. Forgot the exclamation mark. and i presume most of you are buying, and i am to because i heard how good it is.

so what i want to know is what is it about? i heard something like it invloves gangsters, mobs and alchemist warriors! Alchemist warriors?

Plus, for those who have seen it, Whats so good about it? I heard of this anime a couple months back never took much notice of it, Now im hearing so many good things about it!

I already have it because I didn't check my psychic crystal ball to know it would eventually come out here, and I'm delighted it is because now more people can grab it!

When I first watched Baccano, all I knew is that it was crazy and had something to do with immortality (that's not really a spoiler at all and will probably be on the box, but you never know). Honestly, I think that my approach of complete ignorance worked really well as the show grabbed me right from the opening scene and took me on a nonstop adventure from start to finish.

The show is structured in a fairly chaotic way, so you will feel as though nothing makes sense a lot of the time - but that's part of its charm. Unlike a lot of popular series it is actually put together tightly and doesn't leave things hanging, even though I'd certainly not complain if they ever chose to animate more in future. It's got great music, great animation, great action and great characters. If what you hear already gets you interested, you should really pick up the show.

It's probably possible to dislike Baccano, but I've yet to meet anyone who does.

Twisty-turny narrative, following an large and eccentric bunch of characters and their journey's that brought them to a train boarding from... somewhere to New York (iirc) , before and after. It's set in the 1930 - prohibition era. There's also a level of supernatural stuff going on. To say much about it spoils the fun.

edit: what Rui said. :)

Apology accepted, Admiral.

I have no clue. All I do know is that, for the last year or so, I've avoided removing the seal on my set out of fear of the first four episodes giving me a headache. I've somehow developed a phobia of it that prevents me from watching it.

If you report that you understood it, sanji, I'll feel more confident about starting it. I'll await your review with baited breath.

While Baccano's story is told in a non-linear fashion, that story is actually not a complicated one. It's no Lain or Boogiepop. Once you get past the first couple of episodes everything starts to fall into place and then, like me, you'll wonder why you waited so long.

It helps that the show's effortless style and flair is matched only by the mighty Bebop.

It has a pretty solid voice cast, including two of my favourites Keiji Fujiwara and Masaya Onosaka. It flip-flops between light hearted slapstick and somewhat dark, depressing moments. It's a thoroughly entertaining series, not one of my favourites but I would watch it again.

Also Norio Wakamoto as the narrator type guy and pronounces Carol like CYAAAAROLLL which is awesome
