Azumanga manga omnibus edition

I was kind of on the border of wondering whether or not to post this, it's not really news, I'd just not read about it anywhere before.

But anyway, I found that ADV are releasing an omnibus edition of their Azumanga manga series, for anyone who's interested.
I guess you could take it as opening up the possibility for manga collections of ADV's other manga series such as Gunslinger Girl, Full Metal Panic etc.

I may get it, but i havent really got a manga collection yet. Need to find a shop neer me that sells it.
 
So, this is the entire manga in one tankoban, right? Rather than something like that Naruto manga set?

I should think it'd be a fat "tankobon", aka a "kanzenban" format.
Viz are planning on releasing kanzenban's for Dragon Ball and other longer running manga, so it's nice to see other companies doing the same thing. Tokyopop seem to be going about it in different way though, with the hardback special edition of Fruits Basket (the term aizoban would fit that more appropriately because it's seemingly a special release, likewise for some of their other releases.

I hope there will be some more details soon, and I hope I come across some more interesting things like this!

From the Tokyopop side of things:

Boxset of the first 4 volumes of Fruits Basket (I don't know what shape and form it will take because Tokyopop seem to do thin-card boxes nowerdays and not the extremely sexy thick artbox collection boxes)

The first proper aizoban released outside of Japan I should think. This is hardcover and contains new artwork, interviews and many more special things for this edition.

Specials on the manga side of things seem to be coming in greater quantity now it seems, there's plenty of room for more though, hinting at all the other publishers, and hurry up and release a Death Note manga boxset Viz!

anywho, tokyopop is releasing something similair with the Battle Royale series, entitled - Battle Royale-Ultimate Edition Graphic Novel 1
this version has 672 pgs of ownage...so looks like its a hint for me to pick this series up.

Ah yes that was the other one, I'm hoping there are more that we've all forgotten, so we can find them out when released : )

But yeah, these Ultimate Editions are absolutely fantastic.
All I wonder about Battle Royale though, is whether or not it was really edited for the English adaptation because it's listed as asummed so on the list of edited manga on animeondvd, so I'm guessing it is, but that's not certain. Either way, the first volume I have looks like it retains all the gore that it should have, it's certainly very graphic I mean so I can't see how it could have been edited =). My grammar is dreadful in that last bit of writing, oh dear =(
