There are sure to be no objections to the latest update on the previously announced anime adaptation of Capcom's world-famous Ace Attorney video game franchise, following confirmation from Oricon that the studio behind break-out success Sword Art Online and the touchingly beautiful Your Lie In April will be animating the highly anticipated adaptation, with Space Brothers director Ayumu Watanabe helming the series at A-1 Pictures. Ninja Scroll's Kaoru Wada will be serving as composer.

Yuki Kaji (Attack On Titan's Eren Jaeger) will be leading the series' cast as rookie attorney Phoenix Wright; taking over a role that has been previously portrayed by series creator Shū Takumi and actor Hiroki Narimiya. On the other side of the courtroom, Yuki Kaji will be acting opposite Masashi Tamaki, who joins the cast as the prosecuting prodigy Miles Edgeworth. The trainee medium and Phoenix's assistant Maya Fey is set to be voiced by Aoi Yūki (Puella Magi Madoka Magica's Madoka Kaname), while Chie Nakamuara has been cast as mentor Mia Fey. Additional cast members include Masami Iwasaki as Dick Gumshoe and Tooru Nara as Larry Butz.

Since its debut in 2001, the popular legal visual novel series has spawned a number of sequels and adaptations, including a Nintendo 3DS crossover with Level-5's Professor Layton franchise, a live-action movie and even stage musicals. Capcom are currently developing the sixth mainline entry in the series, tentatively titled Ace Attorney 6, for worldwide release next year. A-1 Pictures' television anime adaptation is currently scheduled to premiere in April 2016.
