AyaCon Five, one of the largest UK anime conventions, will be held from 19-21 of August 2005 at the Warwick Arts Centre (University of Warwick, near Coventry). The venue is the largest ever for a UK anime convention- with seating for 1,200 people along with two theatres, a cinema, an art gallery and two bars!

There will be roughly 1,100 single rooms available on site and it will cost you £50 per night (you will be able to book this accommodation online soon). Registration for the convention will be opening shortly and will be costing £40 for the whole weekend or £20 for one day. I'm torn by this announcement. On the one hand, I'd love to go to another UK con; after AmeCon this year it'd be nice to meet up with any of the people I met there again.

Unfortunately, I've been planning for several months to go to Otakon in Baltimore, and both fall on the same weekend.

It seems like an easy decision (considering Ota will be easily 4 times the price of Aya), but I've been threatened with a beating if I don't get to Otakon... I'll have to work out a compromise with her at KamiKazeCon in March.
 
Tough break. Of course, given the choice, I'd probably take Otakon, seeing as I don't really get too many chances like that... and besides, Aya and Ame will be around for a few years if they continue to be popular. On the other hand, there are plenty of US cons going on. Typical that they both fall on the same weekend though.

As long as all goes according to plan and I DO go I shall be cosplaying. 2 definites for now, Kurapika from Hunter X Hunter and a "non specific" member of the Seigaku Tennis Club (Prince of Tennis). I may go with a 3rd, but haven't decided yet - might even be a girl :shock:
 
If I do it will almost certainly be Gundam related... I think I've got the right hair to pull off Char Aznable (Zeta version). Oooo, 80s hair.
