Planetes is such a great show, I wonder how many vols they'll be of this.. I think there were 25 episodes in all, nice to see it on dvd in the UK, it's been too long since I saw it

Other than that Paranoia Agent seems to be taking an age and I think they still have a fourth volume to release

More Champloo - yay

Samurai 7 - really enjoyed this

Gonna try Karas, and I'll probably pick up Advent Children though IMO it was disappointing after the long wait

Oh look there's more Wolf's rain out

& all in one month, pfft reminds of of that south park quote about anime - as addictive as heroin, only more expensive!

Yay Whisper of the Heart will be finally out in the UK! I can’t wait to see it :D

The Wolf's Rain dvds seem to be coming out really fast. In about 5 months the series is nearly complete!

Same here ^__^ It looks wonderful.

I’m also looking forward to My Neighbours the Yamadas, mostly because it looks so different from the regular Ghibli style. Advent Children will also be an essential purchase – but mostly because of its sentimental value.

And it’s my birthday on the 17th too, so hopefully I’ll have a little cash to spend ^^

There are 6 volumes so this month should see the conclusion.

There's a lot of great stuff out this month. Crest of the Stars is a brilliant series, Whisper of the Heart is beautiful anime to which The Cat Returns was (kind of) a Sequel. Cromartie and Elfen Lied are the two most promising releases from ADV this month and Sam Cham, Sam 7, Fullmetal Alchemist and Paranoia Agent lead the way for MVM. I will look forward to seeing Karas from Manga. Advent Children has as many opinions for and against it as there are people it seems but I enjoyed it.

So a fairly hefty old month with a whole load of quality releases to look forward to :)

Hmm, Crest of the Stars, Wolf's Rain, Paranoia Agent and Whisper of the Heart sound good to me. My Neighbours the Yamadas is another interesting Ghibli effort that should be a lot of fun too.

Crest of the Stars
FMA #6
Paranoia Agent #3
Samurai 7 #2
Samurai Champloo #4
Trigun #6
Wolfs Rain #6
Elfen Lied #2
FFVII: AC
Karas

This is getting expensive...

Will the fullmetal movie be coming out in the uk?
It isn't even out in the US yet because the series hasn't even finished coming out over there. The movie has been licenced in the US so it'll probably come out after the last DVD of the series. God knows when it'll come out in the UK.

I already have the first US Elfen Lied DVD but I think i'll buy the UK ones from now on in hopes that the UK version will have the OAV episode that wasn't on the US DVDs. Like the Gundam thing where we're getting extra episodes in the UK.

It is actually due to be released at the same time as the final volume in the US. It's a little early to be talking about the UK release as yet since the series will not be wrapped up before the end of this year (unless MVM take FUNi's lead and release it at a slightly elevated pace).

MVM already have a huge backlog of releases they need to put out. It would be a stupid move to elevate the FMA releases.

It's stupid for all the people who are waiting for most of the other series like Paranoia Agent, Texhnolyze, Gungrave and so on which they seem to just not care about anymore.

wohoo not so many dvds this month the the last one that means i may be able to save up for my hoilday .... tho i will most likey spend in on anime inports ..... oh well :)

As much as I love the series you've mentioned above, MVM stand to lose a lot more money if they don't keep up to speed with their FMA releases. For a start, it's on TV- so that naturally equals more fans and hence they would end up losing a lot more money than usual to importing.

Paranoia Agent, Texhnolyze and Gungrave have all been out in the US for at least a year now so they have little to lose by delaying them for a few months. The same can't be said for FMA.

It makes sense really, MVM are buisness and need to prioritize their releases accordingly. As their track record proves, they won't suddenly just drop certain series and given time to settle down, I'm sure their schedule will transform back into bi-monthly releases for each series; just be patient :) They have upped their release rate to 6 - 7 DVDs per month, so things should gradually get back to normal.

They've had long enough to get back on track. It's their own fault for licencing too much. I actually hope they do drop some of the series so some other(more capable) company will have a chance at releasing them. The time it's taking to release Paranoia Agent especially is beyond ridiculous for the ammount of volumes in the series.

well if it wont for MVM i dont think anyone would release it here and consideing how much they where releaseing at the end of 2004 and begining of 2005 they are doing a hell of alot better. there only a few company in the UK who bring anime out and ADV are cuting back on how many they bring out too. bezz only bring there own stuff out ... who else would bring the seire out apart from MVM?????
