Anime Websites

It's a slightly silly question but as I'm not very experienced in the likes of anime and manga it means I'm also not familiar with the popular websites for it. When I hear about a video game, I can check the various major websites for the latest news, reviews, features et cetera. Now I know AUKN has these, but I like to have a variety, reading one person's anime review isn't going to convince me to buy the product, I need to read a few to see what the general opinion is. So aside from AUKN, what are the big websites for anime and manga where I can read good reviews and stay up to date on the industry news?

There is no real Gamespot/IGN size anime website, but I suppose the closest you'll get to that is ANN (Anime News Network). Other than them, I suppose the general vibe is a lot more amateur - like Anime On DVD (well updated, but god awful layout). Generally, I subscribe to my favorite anime blogs and all the rest in Google Reader and then go from there (upwards of 30+ websites). Due to the nature of the anime industry i.e. it's all based in Japan, relying on sites like ANN for buzz on the best anime will leave you years behind the more fluent fans reading and writing about anime airing in Japan right now, and even then, that's only if the anime is licensed. The sad fact of the matter is that most people still don't know anything about anime like Monster and Honey & Clover precisely because the Western industry has decided that you won't be interested.

Yeah, I'm already subscribed to Japanator since it's the sister site of Destructoid which I already frequent. I have Anime News Network already bookmarked too, but what about this website called theOtaku, is it any good and what's it about exactly?

"TheOtaku" is very good for computer wallpapers [And images in general] I find. I don't really use it for anything else. ANN are a way better news source.

Based on what's mentioned, I'll probably be using AUKN, ANN & Japanator for my news. These three information sources should be enough for me, thanks for the help folks.
