Anime On Demand closes down, is replaced by Animax UK

Today, the anime streaming website Anime On Demand have officially announced their closure after months of inactive service. The streaming website, which was operated by Viz Media Europe was responsible for the simulcasts of numerous hit anime titles in the United Kingdom, such as&nbsp;<em>Magi</em>,&nbsp;<em>Steins;Gate</em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>Tiger & Bunny</em>.

The service has been officially replaced with&nbsp;<em>Animax UK</em>, a new streaming website run by Viz Media Europe and Sony, which offers hundreds of hours of existing television series'&nbsp;like&nbsp;<em>Death Note&nbsp;</em>and&nbsp;<em>Bleach</em>, movies like&nbsp;<em>Mardock Scramble&nbsp;</em>and new simulcasts of shows like&nbsp;<em>Beyond the Boundary</em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>Coppelion!&nbsp;</em>

Animax are also offering a 2-week free trial and 50% off the first month of service for all Anime On Demand users who use this promotional code: AOD-NOW-ANIMAX

This is great for some. Problem with it for me is I don't watch my anime on the intarweb because of buffering issues due to bandwith restrictions. If it's not on the Sky+ box, or a DVD disc, it's not on my tele.

Interesting. Might take them up on that. I had a few titles that I hadn't got around to completing yet that were on AoD.
 
Has anyone else tried the offer?

It says "Animax is offering all Anime On Demand users an exclusive all-access 2-Week Free Trial and 50% off your first month of the service"
What has actually happened is that I've got a receipt for £3 and notification of billing for £5.99 from the 10th January.
If I'm getting two free weeks and 50% off shouldn't I be charged £3 in a fortnight and have regular billing start on the 24th of January?
