Since Animax launched their on-demand web and PS3 services in the United Kingdom, they have boasted a catalogue of simulcasts and older titles associated with Viz Media's European arm, such as Bleach and Nisekoi. Today, the streaming service announced some new changes to their service which seems them moving away from being exclusively tied to Viz Media, which they have celebrated by announcing the following FUNimation titles, which will be available for streaming soon:

Daimidaler: Prince vs Penguin Empire

Dragonar Academy

Fairy Tail

Riddle Story of Devil

Selector Infected WIXOSS

Also, the monthly fee for the premium membership is set to be reduced by exactly 100 pennies, cutting the cost from £5.99 to £4.99.

Some good news then, in that it might mean titles broadcast only on Funimation and are normally region locked might be streamed in the UK (Black Butler, Hetalia etc.)

Some bad news possibly given this company's reputation - if it has one these days.

Always nice to see improvements being made. And good news for the discount as well. :)

Another change?
Subscribers will have access to free simulcasts one week before they are available to non subscribers. Non-Subscribers will have a two week timed window for our Simulcast seasons with a countdown to expiry. The expiry date reflects this time window, and this will differ from programme to programme.

Wow, this is definitely going to get me to give Animax a second chance. I hope they stream them on time for subscribers instead of half a week after Funi.

Fantastic news right before a jam-packed summer season. Woohoo.

I'm not giving them a penny until they show they can stream things on time for an entire season.

I agree completely with the above because this:

I can't keep on top of the service enough to watch things within the two weeks if they don't release things on time. If it's on time I can get into a routine of the day it airs and just about keep up, but otherwise it's a no go for me as a free user or subbing to them.

Where are you quoting this from?

Although I can see the change has already been implemented on Animax, with every new show put up since yesterday padlocked with a 5 day expiry.

I try to find episode 8 of Mekaku City Actors which wasn't padlocked yesterday, and it is now with a five day expiry. But looking on the series page, that episode is up twice, padlocked once, open once. Everything that was available to stream yesterday is now up there twice, padlocked once and open once.

WTF!

I don't mind wating a week to watch an episode. I sure am not going to pay for hi-def streams that look lower res than Crunchyroll's SD streams. But with the site a nightmare to navigate as it is, making it even more of a complication and headache to find a playable episode, makes it all the more likely that I'll just stop using the service.

Shows have been getting uploaded twice for the past few weeks, one should be the AD free video.

Looks like they've already fixed the mess, just Mekaku City Actors 8 showing up now for this non-subscriber, and I guess the rest will show up when the padlocks wear off.

Typical Animax! The week of subscriber exclusivity on episodes passed yesterday, but have those episodes come up for general Free-viewing? Of course not!

EDIT: And the first new episodes go up on Animax Free-view... Dragonar Academy ep 6, and Selector blah blah Wixoss ep 8. Not for two weeks, but they expire in six days. and who's going to start a new series in the middle?

So today you can watch

selector infected WIXOSS episodes 3, 5, 6, 7 and 8

Fairy Tail episodes 177, 178

Dragonar Academy episodes 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7

and finally Soul Eater Not! Episode 9 and they now expire in 12 days...

Subscription Option now available. £3.99 a month if you buy 6 months...
Note that this is not a single payment, it is still payable monthly but you sign a 6 month contract. You also can't upgrade online from the existing monthly plan, you have to call them.
