The Genesis! Haha I remember it well. I went to Uni at Queen Mary and lived in Whitechapel for 2nd and 3rd year. Genesis was just round the corner from where I lived and it was dirt cheap but not too bad. The main screen was actually pretty big, though it could get quite toasty in there. I remember seeing The Men who Stare at Goats and New Moon there (my flatmates' choice not mine! Though I actually enjoyed the 1st and 3rd films).

It'd be good to see Akira on the big screen again, but alas I'm off to see The Apprentice: You're Fired being recorded at the same time :(
 
I've got my tickets, so I'm going to see it. Glad to hear about this cinema from you actually, it's the first time I've heard of them, but any cinema supporting anime deserves our patronage, I think =)
