Last week, we brought you news that the popular US anime publisher ADV had "laid off up to 40 employees" (mostly from their fledgling manga division), and while an ADV spokesperson had claimed this was simply a part of their annual company realignment, many took these job losses as a literal sign that the long expected consolidation of the US anime industry had begun.
One week on a yet more ADV news has hit the Internet. According to various reliable sources, they have closed their Monster Island dubbing studio (there were previously two separate ADV dubbing studios; Industrial Smoke and Mirrors being the other) and they are now combining all of their dubbing projects under the new "ADV Studios" moniker.
