i got a few of my dvds today and a letter saying-

please note, prices do not include current discounts.

so in other words i have to pay ther original prices.

and about HMV there closing more of there stores and i dont like the look of it, so just in case, of those who buy from HMV to keep a eye out

same with UP1 before you buy anything from UP1 ask them about the discounts on the stuff you want before you buy them ok

If your talking about the yellow box on the invoice from up1 that states - Titles on order and further comments: (please note, prices do not include current discounts), I think that has always been there and is applied to any items listed in the yellow box that are on order which are display without the current discount the same as the full price is listed in your account, when the items are posted out they should be at the discounted prices this is only to let you know whats still on order as far as I know there's no need to worry.

Yes the UP1 stuff always lists the full price becuase the discount can vary, when the order is picked they apply the current discount at that time.

I've used the for years and quite honestly I can only remember the discount system changing once, all other times i've paid the advertised price when I put the order in originally.

As the above two posts say, the discount is applied when the item is paid (and shipped) not when it is ordered. So if you order something today that is due for release in November, if the discount changes by the time of release that is the price you pay. It has been like that for as long as I remember (I take it you have only just got around to preordering from them AF).
