5 Centimeters per Second certainly has its issues, and the story hasn’t necessarily aged that well compared to Shinkai’s later works, but existing fans of the film will no doubt get a lot of joy from watching the film on Blu-ray.

In my head I still think this is Shinkai's masterpiece to date, but I think I'll need to revisit it with this release before writing anything extensive on it. I'm looking forward to it a lot though!
