After a hiatus lasting a few painful months, our highly unofficial UK anime DVD chart has returned; please keep in mind, these statistics are based on the top selling anime DVDs listed by Play.com and to keep proceedings interesting, we include only the most recent releases in the chart. So without further blabbing, we present this week's UK anime DVD chart;
20th May UK anime DVD chart

10. Gungrave: Vol 1. - Beyond The Grave (MVM)
As many will have predicted, MVM's stellar line-up of "top tier" anime releases is finally starting to pay off for them as they have managed to get a fantastic 5 seperate series into our top 10, along with this week's best seller - Fullmetal Alchemist #1! Else where, Stand Alone Complex continues to perform extremely well for Manga UK, while New Fist of the North Star #1 (from ADV) and Gungrave #1 (MVM) are showing good potential by sticking around the top 10 a month after their April releases.

well its not a surprize that Fullmetal Alchemist: Vol. 1 as at the top. MVM are doing really well this year lets hope they keep it up :)

Well it's nice to see more obscure titles like Chrono Crusade breaking into the top 5 as well as more respected titles like Bebop and GITS SAC.

I'm actually surprised that the new BGC 2040 boxset isn't up there.

Although maybe that's because people are ordering it from sites other than play.com

Have they changed the price up to its usual 45 quid?

*checks*

Yep, 47.99. That might explain it.

In any case, the rest is pretty much as I expected except for Gungrave being so low. I was expecting a higher place in the charts. Then again, there are quite a few high profile, high quality shows in there so I guess it's only natural that it got bumped down a bit.
