UK Anime Distributor MVM Entertainment Discussion Thread

If it's someone's all time favourite I guess that means I have to check it out. I was wrong about the videogames part, it's done several videogame collabs but no actual standalone game I don't think.

All I really know about it is that it's about assassin girls and it has really nice character designs. I believe it's a multimedia franchise with videogames as well. Like Girls with guns I do too enjoy series with both Gs so I'll check it out.

    Anime at the cinema

I missed Perfect Blue at the cinema unfortunately due to being busy with my new college course, I AM however definitely going to see Chainsaw Man: Reeze Arc though.

Cool that Gungrave is getting a nice collector's edition. That's probably all I'd pick up out of those announcements. Though I haven't seen anything of what kind of show Lycoris Recoil is (Have only really seen the character designs) so that could be a possibility. I hear it's good, might check...

UK Anime Distributor Crunchyroll/Funimation/Manga UK Discussion Thread

@sniper_samurai I saw this and the steelbook design is lovely but considering the last 4k had some pretty big issues including missing subtitles and still having the end theme replaced I might wait until a review hits. I just feel like every blu ray release I've spent money on has had a major...

UK Anime Blu-ray & DVD Bargains

Picked up Jujutsu Kaisen season 1 sets 1&2 for £34.99 each instead of the usual £59.99 HMV usually has them for. Was in store, not sure what the online prices are like but it's a decent saving so thought it warranted mention here. Also thanks @Dragon Slayer I've been after that Dororo...

Gundam Goes Diskless: GQuuuuuuX Becomes Bandai’s First Diskless Anime Edition

Have been a bit busy and hadn't been on here in a while. I did a double take when i saw this. Honestly this is kind of a disgusting move on Bandai's part. I thought better of them as a company. Reminds me of those awful collector's editions of games from about 7 or 8 years ago where they'd...

What did you RECEIVE today? PHOTOS EDITION!

I'm a big Turtles fan and I did the same. When i say big I really mean BIG. Like many people started with the 87 cartoon (though I'm sure it was the early 90's before the UK got it over here). Then as a teenager discovered the original version of the Turtles with the Eastman and Laird comics and...

What did you RECEIVE today? PHOTOS EDITION!

Damn @farzam1999 What a haul. I have the Godzilla the first 70 years and art of Yuji Kaida books and I can tell you that you definitely won't regret picking those up. Absolutely fantastic stuff. Been getting a few things myself, will post em later when I've gathered them all up for pics.

    The *Im looking for* thread.

Thanks for letting me know Herano. I actually stumbled across the fact they were in stock a while back and ordered. Also managed to get Lupin Bye Bye Lady Liberty despite it previously being discussed as being out of print by some places online.

What did you RECEIVE today? PHOTOS EDITION!

As a big Godzilla fan and someone who has seen Mothra quite a few times I can't see anything to do with the Mothra movie without hearing the song in my head. It's like a learned response. It's just so memorable. It's as the kids might say these days "a banger" 😅

(Nods violently) More than reasonable. I fully endorse awadama as a candidate for the role.

It sounds like what happened with Arrow Video when they were bought out by the hut group which also owned Zavvi. Zavvi have always been shocking since they became purely online but Arrow used to be pretty good until they were absorbed (Merged doesn't sound right as it suggests it was more...

Ha Ha. Now I feel like a tit. For some reason I thought it was different for everyone. Thanks. Not sure they've got anything I actually want but it's nice to have access to for future reference.

@shadowcat Found it thanks. yeah as I suspected it's active. Still not sure how I find my code though. Going through all my old emails to see if I've still got the initial one where it was sent to me.

I haven't ordered anything from AL in so long I'm not even sure if I still have the Anime Unlimited discount code or not. Do they auto renew unless you cancel? Normally I'm pretty good at being on top of this kind of stuff but having just recovered from a major depression episode a lot of things...

    The Gundam Thread

I had a feeling these moments would come up as they're pretty Infamous. They are pretty bad but they're mercifully brief. The overall quality i still think can be considered impressive because they don't re-use footage as much as many other shows did back then. Having said that I still don't...

    The Gundam Thread

It really does come down to preference. I personally think 0079 both the movie and the TV show hold up remarkably well too. Particularly the TV show, given its time constraints and production issues. I think there's probably just as much awe for the original's quality as there are people saying...

New small US distributor Skyset Entertainment could be one to watch for retro anime fans

Hey guys. While researching something I just stumbled across the website for a distributor who just started out recently called Skyset Entertainment. They're a very small outfit and distribute only "on demand" on BD-R. As in: they only produce a disc on spec for every order they receive rather...

Post a photo of your entire anime collection!

Sounds like a good way to organise. I generally go with creator, genre and franchise but clearly I like to make things difficult for myself because that can get messy. :) For example do I put the whole Patlabor franchise with Mecha shows/movies or with Mamoru Oshii's other standalone films/TV...
