Sold now. I’ll leave this up for the time being for reference.
So I took a chance on the Mystery box. And as luck would have it, the only item of real value was something I already have: the Tower Of God UE
I’m just going to offer this at £25 (plus post) - going by how Ebay is still having...
Don’t want to pay AL’s £110? That’s £40 off! 🤔
Doesn’t look like many people risked the “clearance” bundle.
I’ll probably stick mine in my for sale thread later, but dunno how much is reasonable.
If you want confirmation that the clearance titles are correct; I also happened to order the clearance bundle just to make up the shipping / just for the hell of it, and the Tower UE is in there (as are the others)
I ordered the CE.
I had zero idea what it was. Now I know it’s a “fighting anime”, which I guess I wouldn’t specifically seek out…. But I’ll happily try most things anyway.
Uh. Yes. It was.
Or the CE for £25

My observations from recent times are that they will simply split larger orders (as noted by SquigglesWorth), apparently limited by size of shipping box, but also some larger UE-type editions ship separately regardless.
With my order being 30-odd items, I fully expect it to be split across 4-5...
My first (and largest) 12 days has just been marked as dispatched, so don’t lose heart!
Of course; there are still a few more orders to go. But it’s a start.
Of course it would turn out to be pretty much a cluster-beep. It’s never once gone smoothly, has it?
I was rather hoping that at least someone would have had the mystery boxes delivered (or at least shipped) by now, If they were bought as a gift, that would allow for giving people a list on the...
If it helps, I’ll let you know when any of my day one get sent. 😶
I did read their entry / explanation on shipping delays, and apparently there’s some complex equation involving theory of quantum gravity that dictates when, as opposed to simple order time, type, or stock.
I now realise your approach was “£20 x 2 = good” while my approach was “Why is it in two halves in the first place?”
And you’re not surprised by it being in two halves, while I’m thinking the “lower” cost is more “normal”.
I thought you were the one clued-up on Gundam.
Meanwhile there are people like me who do a double-take. If you’re not invested, it’s pretty off-putting.
Standard editions are for the sane(r) people.
If it’s in a mystery box, some will probably flog it to CEX, but that likely means another month or two at the earliest. CEX usually being a good guid to expected value.
And CEX only seem to list the standard version for £22 + £3p&p (so they’ll probably be mixed in with that stock).
Then RM...
If you want some bullet-pointy displeasure analysis, then…
Positives:
I’d suggest it’s a pretty good price for the comprehensive 11-discs of NGE media.
This is the “full” set of 11 discs, not the cut-down 5-disc release.
If you want a set that fits your shelf, you’re after something like this...
Seconding this query, as I am curious.
The MVM stuff gets sent out quickly, so I’m sure someone’s got it by now.
As it’s restricted to the clearance range, I know I’ve got them all so won’t be looking to order.
Just in case anyone didn’t expect this to be continuing during the Xmas stuff, MVMs current DOTW for £7.99 (plus postage):
