UK Anime Distributor MVM Entertainment Discussion Thread

When I tried making an order on the MVM store with the recent 20% discount, and tried again now with the Manga sale, I'm getting charged £3 postage per item, anyone know when they changed this? My last order with them it was only £3 postage for multiple items, that was a couple months ago.

UK Anime Distributor MVM Entertainment Discussion Thread

On the subject ov MVM dvds, what's the quality like, specifically with Blast of Tempest if anyone knows? I know some region 2 anime dvds are released in ntsc, generally when that happens is it 480p or 480i? I don't think I've ever noticed a pal dvd where the video on the disc itself was...

Huh, you're right, I was so sure that was MVM, was under that misconception for years, must have mixed it up with something else... From what I read the australian release was a little better, but both that and the Sentai one were 1080i. I think the italian release is 1080p, pity no english...

They don't have any pictures of it on their site, so just to paint a picture for anyone else on the fence between the two, the CE has each of the dvd, blu-ray and sountrack cd in their own standard dvd "keep case", with all 3 in a chipboard slipbox. I'm a sucker for soundtracks so got the CE...

I get it with the additional items, I missed out on that myself but I understand it, but the limited outer boxes? It works great to get some people to pull the trigger on a pre-order (like on me just now, think this is the very first early bird offer I've ordered), but sucks for the people that...

Never knew they released Blast of Tempest on dvd, that was one I was really hoping to see on blu-ray at some point, guess there's not much hope of that now... Penguindrum, Bunny Drop, Haibane Renmei, and Heaven's Memo Pad, to name a few, MVM have released so many shows on dvd that I would just...

UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Was at work and didn't think they'd sell out THAT fast, so missed out on the bundle with the artbook, ordered the regular bundle before they sold out though. Was still kind of a no-brainer for me because I've been wanting this show for a while, was even tempted to import when Right Stuf had...

UK Anime Distributor MVM Entertainment Discussion Thread

Just checked on MVM store for first time since it had it's big facelift, and the international shipping charges are now a much more reasonable £3 rather than £5, at least to Ireland, anyone know when this changed? Still says "For Europe and worldwide postage is £5 per item." on FAQ page. Guess...

Nothing for me either, I could probably be tempted by Plastic Memories and/or Twin Star Exorcists, but not quite at those prices. I kinda feel like their xmas sales are working against them a bit, because it seems so very likely that the same titles while be on sale then for considerably less...

UK Anime Blu-ray & DVD Bargains

Gatchaman Crowds, Golden Time Collection 1, and Comic Artist & His Assistants are all £9.02 on amazon.co.uk too. They must be price matching but I don't know who, it's not the usual suspect base.com.

Ah, ty for the heads up on that, guess I'll just start keeping an eye out for the funimation blu-ray set on ebay.

I saw that, I think Kaze released on blu-ray as well but only in france, so not with english subtitles. My french would be better than my japanese at least, but no where near good enough let me enjoy those releases, unfortunately. ;) edit: sorry, I stand corrected, seems the OOP Kaze dvd was...

Ohhhhh... From the product page, "From the studio that brought you Durarara!!, Princess Jellyfish and Baccano!", Anime Limited released 2 of those 3 already, an older series but any chance of Princess Jellyfish getting picked up? Odds are slim I suppose, but that's one series I would...

UK Anime Blu-ray & DVD Bargains

Not exactly bargains, but I just made an order with amazon.co.uk including Tokyo Godfathers for £5.99 and Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie: Part 1 and Part 2 for £10.06, seem like pretty decent prices at least. Other than that, looking at what's in my "saved for later" all I see is Comic...

Oh, yes please. Soundtracks are the one thing that'll make me want a release regardless of my actual interest in the movie or series.

I'm fairly certain the CE was £40 during the sales, so yeah. I'd most likely pick the CE up for that if I hadn't already bought the standard during a previous DotW, although the new £5 flat shipping charge might've put me off, it's definitely put a dampener on my enthusiasm for the regular £15...

Which stuff exactly? I received the 2 parts of Owarimonogatari earlier this week, I would have thought they'd have finished shipping all those.

The 12 Days of Christmas 2019 Sale for Anime Limited and MVM Entertainment

Turns out mine arrived today too, was in next door, must have been An Post too as it arrived with the movie bundle. I was only away from the house for less than an hour today, typical... I'm in Ireland too, actually (and guiness? ewww... 😜).

Still up on Zavvi and up1 too, and curiously on amazon via MVM for £38, even though it was around £48 on their own site I think. Almost panic bought it, but can't justify paying that much after everything I spent on the anime sales last few weeks, and especially if it looks likes like there'll...

UK Anime Blu-ray & DVD Bargains

Not exactly a "bargain" really, but Higurashi: When They Cry Season's 1-3 - Collector's Edition is down to £54.50 on amazon right now. Think it was on offer for £60 during first day of MVM's xmas deals. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07H1JZ4VY/
